Vice-Chancellor Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar matriculated 9,101 new students at his first matriculation since assuming office, outlining priorities on student welfare, staff welfare and infrastructure.

Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University held its 33rd matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session at the New Convocation Square, formally admitting a new cohort of students. Of 24,774 applicants, 10,026 were offered admission and 9,101 were matriculated. It was Vice-Chancellor Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar's first matriculation since assuming office on 10th February, 2026; he thanked Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and pledged commitment to institutional transformation, outlining three priorities — student welfare, staff welfare and infrastructure — including a new Taskforce on Utilities to improve water and electricity supply across campus. He told matriculants that the University's admission standards exceed national benchmarks and encouraged them to make full use of the library, clinic and innovation hub, while restating a zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractice, cultism and drug abuse under the Students' Handbook. Registrar Barnabas Terfa Hemba administered the matriculation oath.
